With over five million passengers a year travelling through the airport, Liverpool John Lennon International Airport (LPL) is fast becoming an integral figure in England's transport infrastructure. Providing a gateway to a variety of northern destinations, Liverpool's airport serves nine airlines with flights to and from a range of national and international destinations.

John Lennon Airport is situated around 11 km / 7 miles to the south-east of Liverpool city centre and next to the River Mersey, Grassendale and Hale. Its single terminal is a modern facility, comprising 30 check-in desks and six gates, serving airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair, Thomsonfly and Wizz Air.


Transport options to and from Liverpool John Lennon International Airport are efficient and plentiful. Airlink buses operated by Arriva run twice-hourly between the airport and the city, while frequent trains run to nearby stations, such as Hunts Cross Station, from where airport connection buses await. Both taxis and hotel shuttles are available for hire outside the airport, travelling along the A561 and reaching central Liverpool in around 20 minutes.
